In-Flight Makeup Look
There are a lot of factors for me to consider when I am preparing to travel; one of those is my skin. When I fly, my skin either gets very oily or very dry. My skin is also guaranteed to break out. So, I have come up with the best makeup look, for my skin, to travel with.
First, I need a hydrating primer that won't leave me oily but will still keep my skin nice and moisturized. The one linked is by Makeup Forever and I swear by it!
I also want a nice base that will still keep me looking fresh whether my skin decided to get oily or dry. So, I like to combine a tinted moisturizer along with a matte foundation. I have found that this combination sets my skin up to look good no matter what condition my skin will be in-flight.
Concealer is also a must for me seeing as I prefer to fly early in the morning. Concealer is essential for me to hide those dark circles and puffy undereyes. I like to keep mine on-hand throughout the flight just in case a pimple decides to join me mid-flight.
I love to use a cream highlighter when I do "natural" looks so this one (linked above) by Clinique is perfect! This keeps my skin looking alive and adds a little somethin' to my "plain Jane" look. Cream bronzer is also great for my flights because it keeps my skin looking hydrated and it is less likely to be sucked off of my face from the terrible unfiltered plane air (does this happen to anyone else?).
Brows are a "duh" for me with any look so my brow pencil and brow gel are necessary. If nothing else, I like to have my brow gel on, a little mascara and some concealer when I really want to go naked on the skin.
Like I said, mascara is a go-to on the daily but especially while I travel. I find that when I curl my lashes and apply even the slightest bit of mascara, I look much more awake than if I don't. I really like waterproof mascara for my travel days because it seems to be much less inclined to smudge throughout the trip.
Finally, setting spray is a must whether I am traveling or not. This makes sure that my makeup stays on as much as possible during my trip. I even like to keep a little travel-sized setting spray with me on the plane to refresh my makeup just in case it looks a little dull.
I know that seems like a lot but it really is simple when you're applying it. Whether or not I wear makeup while traveling I know my skin will break out; but, at least this way I can have a chance of not getting as many as I would without makeup on-- stupid, unfiltered, dirty, airplane air!
