March Hits & Misses
I always love watching monthly favorites videos on YouTube so I thought I'd do a blog post on my favorite (and least favorite) products in March. Let's start with the not-so-good and then we'll get to the good stuff!
MISSES
Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara — I am so disappointed in this product! I had seen so many ads for how long and dark this makes your lashes; which it does but it also smudges everywhere. I got this all over my eyelids and under eyes, I looked crazy! Even when I set my under eyes with powder, it still ran and looked horrible. This also was incredibly flaky so I had to pick off little pieces of mascara anytime I wore this. Thankfully, I only purchased the mini version so I don't feel so bad about not using it.
Sephora Charcoal Cleanser— This cleanser is not bad but it's not great either. I am not a fan of the scent nor the type of exfoliating beads that are in the cleanser. The exfoliating parts just feel like chunks of cleanser and don't seem to make my skin feel or look any different. And the scent is not the best. I can't exactly pinpoint what the smell reminds me of but I would prefer the cleanser not smell like it.
Hourglass Foundation Stick — This was just a huge fail for me. I am so sad about this one because I heard so much hype over how amazing it is! I literally tried this once and returned it the same day I purchased it. This stick foundation left my skin looking horrible— I washed it off immediately after applying it. My face looked cakey and dry and streaky, it was awful.
HITS
Colourpop Flexitarian — I am ob-sessed with this highlight! If you want something budget-friendly that will still pack a punch, this is the highlight for you! While it looks glittery in the pan, it turns out looking glowy and wet on the skin. I use this with a beauty sponge and it just melts right into my skin! I used this on my mom, who is a few shades darker than I am, and it looked incredible on her too!
Dose of Colors Stone — I have raved about this so much on my Instagram. I think this is my new favorite liquid lippie (for now)! This is my your lips but better color and is perfect for everyday wear as well as any dolled-up look I try. The formula is incredible! I ate a salad with an oil-based dressing and my coworkers even notices that my lippie wasn't budging! I am in love with this bad boy and will for sure be purchasing more DOC products!
Benefit Brow Pencil — As soon as my Benefit Brow Bar stylist put this on my brows I commented on how smooth it felt during application. This makes my brows look natural and the color is so easy to blend! I use the shade #3 and it's perfect for me! I normally like a darker brow but I have been really into the more natural look lately and this is perfect for that! This pencil has a super fine tip so it can get into all of the sparse spots on my brow and helps me to create the perfect tail. Benefit sells this in a mini version too so you can try it out before you commit to the big-guy!
Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette — Save the best for last! My wonderful friend gave me this palette for my birthday and I honestly cried when I opened it (if you know me then this should not be surprising)! The shades are incredible, they swatch and apply like a dream and they shadow lasts all day! You can use this palette for literally any look and not have to use any other palette. I am so happy and grateful to have this in my collection! And, yes, a dedicated blog post for this palette is coming so you can see all of the gorgeous shades!
What did you love in March! Let me know so I can go out and pick up some more goodies (you know, for the blog ;) ).
