Blogmas Day 2: Rating My Beauty Sponges & Sharing Some of My Favorite Brushes

I have tried almost every beauty sponge out there and still nothing compares to my favorite, the classic, the...

I will rate the following sponges from least favorite to my absolute favorite: Real Techniques, EcoTools, Morphe, Beauty Blender. Whether you're in the market for a new sponge or want to give one away for Christmas, they are the perfect tool for a flawless face of makeup.

4. Morphe - This sponge is way too dense for me. I don't like how hard it feels on my face; it's just too aggressive for me. They do have two versions of the sponge but I have only tried one. Maybe the other would be a better option for me!

3. Real Techniques - This one is great but it's just not as good as other sponges. It is a bit more dense than the rest but it also comes in two sizes which I do really like!

2. Eco Tools - This one is as close to a perfect sponge as we can get at a drugstore price. This puffs up well when wet and is the perfect density. It also comes in two sizes which I enjoy as well-- especially because they come in a two-pack so you can try both!

1. Beauty Blender - The classic; the original beauty sponge. This sponge is just the best. It applies my foundation like a dream and is soft upon application. It does suck up much more product than a brush does but I still prefer the look of my skin when using this to apply foundation over a brush.

Like I said, I much prefer to use a sponge over a brush but here are some of my favorite brushes if you need some ideas:

  • Sigma F80

  • This brush is great for foundation and I even love it with my bronzers.

  • E.L.F. Foundation Brush

  • This brush is also wonderful for foundation and is a super affordable alternative to the Sigma brush.

  • Real Techniques Stippling Brush

  • This is my favorite tool to use with my Glossier Cloud Paint. It applies the blush evenly and naturally, I love it!
